Question and Answers about Bison:

Q. How long should I cook it?
A. Bison meat cooks about 30% faster than beef. Because bison is leaner than beef with less marbling to slow down the cooking process, many “first-timers” are tempted to overcook bison steaks and other cuts. Don’t do it!

Q. How does the flavor of range-raised bison compare to other red meats?
A. Bison has a satisfying, rich flavor that’s comparable to beef and every bit as delicious.

Q. What are the benefits of eating range-raised bison in addition to its flavor?
A. Bison is high in iron, protein and it's extra lean. It’s also lower in sodium, cholesterol and saturated fat than beef, chicken or salmon.

Q. If we eat American Bison, will they become extinct?
A. No. Consumer demand actually helps protect and increase America’s bison population. There is a local taxidermy and meat processing facility that will deliver your trophy for processing. Fees not included with your hunt.

Buffalo Hunts

Timber Lake Buffalo hunts are private, fully guided hunts on more than 8,000 acres of foothills and timber-lined streams and ponds.

Our guides are experienced with the area to better aide you in your selection of your trophy. Our hunts are guided one-on-one so you or your party will be in the most strategic location in which the animals have most recently traveled.

The hunts are on private land, with no license required. There is a “zero–in” area to inspect your weapon prior to your hunt.
